The evening of Monday 23rd April saw Alpha-H’s European Business Manager, Tom Ogden, host an intimate event in the Sandra Blow room at The SOHO Hotel, London. Tom presented to sixteen key press and bloggers to introduce them to the latest launches from Alpha-H and discuss the upcoming Alpha-H TSV on QVC.

Tom began by sharing a history (a 9,000-year history to be precise, though he managed to keep it brief!) of the face mask and its origins; from the first physical masks created to the early origins of the cosmetic mask. Guests were fascinated to learn, thanks to Tom’s research, about one of the first cosmetic facial masks created by Madame Rowley in the 19th century which was commonly known as the ‘Toilet Mask’. Thankfully things have moved on a little since then…

Guests received an exclusive look at the two new Alpha-H products launching as part of the QVC TSV at the end of the month. The new Liquid Gold Ultimate Perfecting Mask is an advanced home peel which blends Combination Hydroxy Acids (CHAs) with a nourishing base of Squalane, Shea Butter and Fision Hydrate. The result is that dead, tired and unhealthy cells are lifted away, pores are more refined, collagen production invigorated, and moisture drawn to the skin’s surface. The new Liquid Gold Resurfacing Cleansing Cream is a luxurious multi-tasking cream cleanser that purifies and primes; eliminating dead cells and pollution particles to smooth, brighten and plump the skin, reducing pore size and discolouration.

Following Tom’s presentation questions were asked by the guests covering a range of skincare topics including how to fit the new products in to a current regime, the rise in popularity of acid exfoliants and chemical peels and Tom’s personal go-to routine!

Guests were treated to sweet and savoury canapes and drank white and rose wines, as well the occasional soft drink of course. It was great to catch up with journalists from the likes of Stylist, InStyle and the Daily Mail as well as loyal Alpha-H bloggers including Really Ree, Little Miss Plumfull and Beauty Queen UK.
